M44 Mosin Nagant Bolt Modification

This is a bolt modification I did on an M44 Mosin Nagant Rifle to make it into more of a hunting Rifle. I used BernzOmatic Nickel Silver Brazing Rod and a Grade 8 5/16 bolt to make the weld it turned out nice. You have to have a hot torch, I used Oxy Acetylene, to make the braze. The Rod is rated at 85000 Psi which means it is almost as strong as a weld.
